Danish Science Festival 2026 Event – Debate on Migration and Mental Health

Join us for an evening debate featuring presentations from researchers exploring the relationship between migration and mental health:

(1) Anthropologist, Assistent Prof. Gabriel Antonio Brown, Department of English, Germanic and Romance Studies, Centre for Culture and the Mind, University of Copenhagen. He will present Migration and Mental health in Latin America: Historical and Anthropological  Perspectives.

(2) PostDoc Ahlam Chemlali, Department of Politics and Society, Aalborg Universitet. She will discuss her fieldwork on everyday life in transit and the lived experiences of migrants.

(3) Journalist Lise Josefsen Hermann tells about her own experiences reporting from the Global South. She will share insights from her work interviewing migrants for media and educational purposes, including materials used in Danish upper secondary schools. Lise Josefsen Hermann will also moderate the final debate and encourage questions from the audience throughout the event.
