NEW: International Conference on Global Land Grabbing II: Call for papers

As a follow up to the International Conference on Global Land Grabbing held in 2011 at IDS, the Land Deal Politics Initiative (LDPI) is organising a second international academic conference. The organisers invite papers that offer rigorous and innovative analysis based on recent, original field research. Doctoral students and younger researchers, particularly from the global South, are especially encouraged to participate.

Africa Energy Forum 2012

The Africa Energy Forum (AEF) is the established meeting place for the African power sector. AEF unites government and power utilities of Africa with the energy industry to focus on delivering power infrastructure projects in Africa. With massive demand for power in Africa, and international investors keen to fund power projects, this is the established event that African governments and private sector attend year on year. As a result AEF has become the place to do business and meet new and prospective clients.

Biodiversity Asia 2012: Science, Policy, and Governance

The international conference is being organized in India to highlight the urgency of biodiversity conservation in Asia ahead of the 11th Conference of the Parties (CoP) of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) to be held in India in October 2012. Biodiversity Asia 2012 will bring together researchers, policy makers, managers, students, teachers, NGOs, activists, and others working towards the conservation of Asia's biodiversity.
