Master's Degree in Impact Evaluation for International Development

This degree offers familiarisation with and skills in the basics of modern evidence-based policy and Impact Evaluation, including the contexts and practices of evaluation, research design and data production for evaluation, and basic and more advanced methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Master's degree in Environmental Governance - Specialization in Biodiversity

The United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) programme aims to provide students with the intellectual foundation and practical field experience necessary for understanding environmental governance regimes. With growing international interest on environmental governance and the role of biodiversity in regional and national development, there is increasing demand for biodiversity experts with empirically and conceptually grounded training.

Master's degree in Climate Change and Policy

This M.Sc. integrates natural and social science dimensions of climate change. Students will acquire specialist knowledge of the causes and consequences of climate change, and the policy options for both the transition to a sustainable low-carbon economy and adaptation to climate impacts. The program covers international, national and local policy arenas.

Master's degree in Water Security and International Development

The MSc Water Security and International Development is a new 1 year full-time (or 2 years part-time) degree that focuses on 'water security' in its broad political ecology and political economy sense. It builds on the notion that the hydrological cycle is intimately connected to critical global policy concerns: climate change, food trade and food security, energy security - and in turn to the international cooperation that affects human, community, regional and state security.

Master's degree in Anthropology, Environment and Development

This one-year MSc focuses on implications of a changing environment for production systems and human welfare, on sustainable use of natural resources in developing countries, and on environmental and welfare impacts of changing patterns of resource use with development.

Master's degree in Development Practice (MDP)

The Global Master’s in Development Practice (MDP) is an innovative, cross-disciplinary two-year graduate degree program that provides students with the knowledge and skills required to better identify and address the global challenges of sustainable development. MDP programs consist of two years of cross-disciplinary academic training in the health, social, natural & engineering sciences and management, along with rigorous, hands-on field training experiences. The creation of MDP programs is an acknowledgement that addressing extreme poverty and sustainable development throughout the world requires expert knowledge and an interdisciplinary approach. 22 universities offer the MDP degree program in the fall of 2010 and in 2011.


Master's degree in Climate Change and Development

The University of Sussex is offering a Master's degree in climate change and development with emphasis on causes of climate change, the physical and human consequences especially in relation to poverty, processes of adaptation and policy responses. A limited number of scholarships are available.

EnvEuro - Environmental Science in Europe.

EnvEuro is a two-year Master in Environmental Science, offered by four leading European universities.
The Master is focused on soil, water and biodiversity.
