International Symposium: Perspectives on global warming and livestock in developing countries of Latin America

Date and venue: May 10-12, 2011. Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, Peru.

Livestock contributes to global warming worldwide. Moreover, the negative impacts of global warming are likely to significantly affect small livestock producers in developing countries. This situation calls for interdisciplinary mitigation and adaptation strategies. In particular, the objectives of the workshop were to:

  • Review information about the linkage between Global warming and livestock in different countries of Latin America.
  • Define the most promising strategies for mitigation and adaptation of the effects of global warming on livestock.
