AdaptNet. AdaptNet is a community of adaptation specialists, sharing the latest information on adaptation strategies, measures, tools, research and analysis, and highlighting best practice and implementation. It focuses on cities in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, but nested within a global network of cities. African Food Security Urban Network (AFSUN). AFSUN was established in 2008 as a network of African and international universities, non-governmental and community organizations, and municipal governance networks. The netowrk aims, among other goals, to improve the knowledge base on urban food security in Africa and to build African human resource capacity and expertise in food security policy and management. Cities Alliance. The Cities Alliance is a global coalition of cities and their development partners committed to scaling up successful approaches to poverty reduction. The Alliance brings cities together in a direct dialogue with bilateral and multilateral agencies and financial institutions. Alliance members promote the developmental role of local governments and help cities of all sizes obtain more coherent international support. Competence Platform on Energy Crop and Agroforestry Systems for Arid and Semi-arid Ecosystems- Africa (COMPETE). The objective of this Competence Platform is to stimulate bioenergy implementation in arid and semi-arid regions in Africa. Danish International Human Settlement Service (DIB). DIB supports local partners in the development and carrying out of newly established settlement projects involving marginalised citizens in the developign world. In Denmark, DIB's focus is on communication, anchoring and academic and political work. Urban Harvest. Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) initiative to direct and coordinate the collective knowledge and technologies of the Future Harvest Centers towards strengthening urban and peri-urban agriculture. |
