Project title: Inheritance Rights for Women
Description: As a result of ethnic diversity, one can not distinguish the Cameroonian woman in a gender profile. However, all ethnic groups give great importance to local traditions, which widely detrimentally affects the status of women and their enjoyment of human rights. This greatly affects her rights to inheritance which leads to many of them becoming destitute including their children. AHURTOD believes that if this silence issues is brought to the lamp light, then the woman’s rights to inherit can be a realistic dream in Cameroon, where in some cultures she is equally considered a property. The project seeks to produce and distribute small simple booklets on inheritance rights procedure, Wills, and a creation of a short movie on inheritance for the audience who can not read or write. It is supported by Feed The Minds and KIOS.
