Natural resource management and biodiversity - Funding sources[Updated: November 21, 2011] Terra Viva Grants Update October 2011 This newsletter from Terra Viva contains a series of calls for funding. Application deadlines are from August 2011 to April 2012. The main objective of this Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Programme is to educate the future generation of researchers, teachers and management staff working with sustainable forest and nature management, in both tropical and temperate regions, to ensure wider societal benefits. Application deadline: November 1, 2011 RRF small grants fund for emergency conservation The Rapid Response Facility (RRF) is a partnership between Fauna & Flora International, UNESCO World Heritage Centre and the United Nations Foundation. RRF grants are available to support emergency conservation activities within, or impacting on, a host of natural World Heritage sites worldwide. Grants are very occasionally made available to other eligible sites. RRF grants are restricted to countries that are eligible for Official Development Assistance according to the Development Assistance committee (DAC) of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Rufford Small Grants for Nature Conservation Rufford Small Grants for Nature Conservation (RSGs) are aimed at small conservation programmes and pilot projects. RSG's are available to individuals and small groups. Applications can be made at any time of the year; decisions are usually made within three months. RSGs generally support projects of about a year's duration. Applications from non-first world areas are strongly encouraged. International Foundation for Science research grants Applications for IFS Research Grants are welcome from young scientists in developing countries to do research on the sustainable management, use or conservation of biological or water resources. Application deadlines are 30 June and 31 December each year. For more information and application forms, visit the IFS website. |
