Innovations in Science and Technology in Developing Countries Project
TWAS Academy and ISTIC are collaborating on a project aimed at identifying, rewarding and disseminating best practices in the innovative use of science and technology in the development of new products, processes or services that have had impacts on economic development in the South. Scientists, entrepreneurs and others are invited to submit abstracts of their experience.

Small Grants for Thesis Writing: Call for Apllications
The CODESRIA Small Grants Programme is open to graduate students and professionals currently registered in African universities, and preparing their theses and dissertations in all social science fields and other disciplines involving social or economic analysis.

Comparative Research Networks: Call for Proposals 2012
The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) invites proposals from researchers based in African universities and centres of research for the constitution of Comparative Research Networks (CRNs) to undertake studies on or around any of the themes identified as priority research themes within the framework of the Council’s strategic plan for the period 2012 – 2016. National Working Groups: Call for Proposals 2012
Through the the National Working Groups (NWGs), CODESRIA has sought to mobilise national-level research capacities, to channel these into organised reflections andto encourage African researchers to organise autonomously on priority themes of their choice. The Council invites proposals for the constitution of NWGs under the 2012 competition for the research grants that are available. Please see the CODRESIA website for more information.

Call for Phase 1 Applications for Grants for Development Research in 2012
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls for Phase 1 applications for grants for development research and capacity strengthening in developing countries in 2012. The objective of the support is to generate new knowledge and strengthen research capacity in order to promote the overall objective of the Danish development cooperation to reduce poverty and support sustainable development. More information on the call, deadlines, application forms and guidelines will be available in mid-October.

Global South Scholar-in-Residence Programme - the Graduate Institute, Geneva
The Graduate Institute in Geneva has launched a new academic programme, inviting a small number of scholars from the global South to the Institute for a periode of one semester in order to participate in teaching courses and further personal research projects.
