The University of Minnesota’s Institute on the Environment (IonE) is searching for  postdoctoral candidates to fill four new Global Environmental Leadership Fellows positions for research on global issues such as land use and ecosystem management and change, agriculture and food security, freshwater resources and water security, climate change adaptation, links between population & development.

Strategic research in health, food and welfare 2010 – Indo-Danish research collaboration within biotechnology

The call is managed jointly by the Indian Department of Biotechnology and the Programme Commission on Health, Food and Welfare under the Danish Council for Strategic Research. Approx € 2 million is offered under the headline biotechnology including the following themes:

• Connection between food, health and lifestyle
• Foods incl. biological manufacturing
• Bioresources, food and other biological products'

Benefit-sharing Fund: Call for Proposals 2010 ´

The Call for Proposals 2010 under the Benefit-sharing Fund of the International Treaty, which will invest more than USD 10 million in projects globally, is now opened for its biennial cycle 2010-2011. The thematic focus of the Fund is helping ensure sustainable food security by assisting farmers to adapt to climate change through a targeted set of high impact activities on the conservation and sustainable use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture.
