Previous group: Poverty and Environment

The working group existed from 2003 to 2007 as an informal group, meeting 3-4 times a year. in 2007, it formally became a group within DDRN. The main activities of the working group focused on arranging a public seminar series on poverty-environment issues. 

The objectives were to:

• Contribute to an improved understanding of the poverty-environment relationship with specific focus upon natural resources
• Explore ways to improve policy and practice in the field of rural poverty reduction and natural resource management
• Address how a concern for poverty-environment linkages can be safeguarded and mainstreamed under a sector and programme-based approach in ODA.

Outcomes:

6 seminars were held at Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) during the period April - December 2008. A report on all 6 seminars can be downloaded here.

2 seminars were held at Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) during 2009.
