Small-Scale Mining and Development Aid in AfricaTime and venue: November 13, 2009 - Department of Geography and Geology, University of Copenhagen The objectives of the seminar were to examine the nature of small-scale mining in Africa, assess international support initiatives targeting the sector, and investigate the impediments foreffective and sustainable development aid to Africa's growing small-scale mining populations. The seminar brought together researchers and development practitioners from Denmark, Germany, Belgium, England, and Canda, working with small-scale mining and development. The presentations all touched upon one or more of the seminar objectives and were followed by questions and brief discussions.
