Information and discussion meeting: Eco-business as a driver of sustainable development in Central America?Date: Wednesday December 17, 2008 - 14:00-15:00 In occasion of his visit to Denmark, Danida advisor Søren Borch offered to share his experiences from the eco-business component of Premaca, Danida's Regional Environment Programme in Central America, with members of DDRN. A three-fold sustainability approach in eco-business, i.e. promoting economic, social, and environmental sustainability, was illustrated with examples from forest agriculture, vegeta-bles, handy craft, tourism, small industry etc. This meeting was targeted to researchers, development practitioners, and companies dealing with business, environment, and/or livelihoods. About 10 participants attended the meeting and exhanged their views with Søren Borch. As this was a quite informal meeting, minutes were not taken, but if you are interested in hearing more about the theme discussed, you are welsome to contact Søren Borch. |
